blind date

a young woman found herself winning a prize......a dating service.  through this dating service she was set up with a nice young man.  they planned to meet for lunch one afternoon.  this young man asked her very nicely if she could pick him up from work for their lunch date.  the young woman agreed, assuming he had carpooled to work and had no vehicle available.  when she pulled up at his place of employment, out walked a young man with a white stick. 
kinda gives new meaning to the phrase "blind date"

sidewalk cafe

a thirty-something mother found herself single with four children.  she turned to online dating.  she met a man who had moved from new york city to phoenix arizona.  he arrived in arizona with a minivan.. now mind you this man has no children.  when this single lady asked him why he drove a minivan.. he simply stated "i own a sidewalk cafe".  ok... cute pictures of a sidewalk cafe come into your mind right?  imagine sitting outside on a brisk morning enjoying a cup of coffee and reading your newspaper.  wrong!  this man's sidewalk cafe??  the hot dog stand outside of your very own home depot.
